Tofu with Dark Soya Sauce
A simple yet flavorful tofu dish, pan-fried until golden and then braised in a savory-sweet soy sauce. Comforting, delicious, and pairs perfectly with rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 block tofu, cut into thick slices
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp sugar (adjust to taste)
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pan and pan-fry tofu slices until golden brown on both sides.
  • Pour in dark soy sauce, salt, and sugar. Stir gently to coat the tofu.
  • Add water and let the tofu braise for 5–8 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and absorb.
  • Dish out and enjoy hot with steamed rice.
